Bert’s Big Adventure Kiddo Sky Saved Her Sister’s Life!

Meet Bert’s Big Adventure kids Jolene & Sky!

Mom Hayle’s beautiful optimism gives her amazing perspective. It was Sky’s diagnosis of ALPK3, that ultimately saved her sister Jolene’s life! Without it, there would have been no reason for Jolene to have ever been tested to discover her diagnosis of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and ALPK3.

To honor their journey, Hayle carries a tattoo of two hands forming an anatomical heart with butterflies, symbolizing Sky and her heart donor. For their family, butterflies represent Sky’s donor and “God’s kisses.”

Which is why our friends at Gas South are gifting them a week-long retreat at Callaway Gardens, where they’ll enjoy their very own private villa and have a chance to explore breathtaking landscapes!

In honor of Sky’s heart donor, the family will experience the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center. This beautiful space is home to over 1,000 butterflies fluttering freely in one of the largest tropical butterfly conservatories in North America.

It’s time for some perspective that could only come from some Bert’s Big Adventure ROOKIES! This will be Caitlin & Kailey’s first trip! Luckily they have several members of the staff ready to share their best tips for making this trip magical.

Bert’s Big Adventure Kiddo Bobby Got The Call The Same Day He Rang The Bell!

 Bert called Bobby and his family with the BIG news, that he had been selected for Bert’s Big Adventure on the same day he rang the bell to end his treatment for Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis!

One thing to know about this awesome kid? He’s OBSESSED with cars, whether it’s working on them, washing them or even watching videos about them on YouTube!

Which is why our friends at Bristol Motor Speedway are celebrating this brave kid to the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 13th in Tennessee! We hope they’re ready for an electric experience with some exciting vintage NASCAR short track racing!

They’ll be set up in style VIP seats, exclusive garage area access, opportunities to meet drivers, and even a chance to be part of pace car lap!

But that’s not all, because our dear friends at Zaxby’s are going to ensure the fun doesn’t send off the track with an incredible hotel stay, and plenty of cash for meals, souvenirs, and transportation!

Meet Bert’s Big Adventure Kid Oliver!

At 32 weeks, Bert’s Big Adventure kid Oliver arrived early and weighed only 4 lbs. The moment mom Amanda received his diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot, she felt like the whole world stopped.

In October 2024, Amanda had to upend the entire family to temporarily relocate for a new job opportunity to provide for the family. This sweet family is looking for a fresh start to find a comfortable place to live, work and play!

Here’s where our friends at RangeWater Real Estate come in! When they heard this family’s story, they knew they had to step in! They are absolutely thrilled to be providing Oliver and his family with aa brand-new, three-bedroom townhome at The Mabry – completely RENT-FREE for the one year!

After having to go through so much in a short span of time and with a journey still ahead, we hope that this home provides this special family the comfort, stability, and peace of mind they deserve!

Despite early challenges after being diagnosed with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, KJ is a true fighter who continues to push forward with an inspiring level of independence!

KJ dreams of joining a wheelchair basketball league! Our friends at the Atlanta Hawks are about to make that dream come true because they have some exciting news! The Atlanta Hawks have officially signed KJ to a day-long contract as The Atlanta Hawks Player for the Day!

To celebrate KJ’s perseverance, passion, and unstoppable spirit–the Hawks are going to take care of everything he needs as a new member on the court!
