Tupac’s estate opened a pop-up restaurant in L.A. called Powamekka Cafe. The concept was actually created by Tupac in notes he left behind before he died in 1996.
Using his own words, the restaurant’s slogan is, “A passionate paradise 4 people with power 2 play and parlay.” It’s in partnership with a soul food restaurant, so the menu includes items like fried chicken wings, gumbo, and meatloaf.
It opened last Thursday and will be around until the 30th for all the, “Divaz and playaz”…those are Tupac’s words, not mine. The restaurant will also have images and memorabilia from his career on display.
This isn’t the first time the concept has been brought to life. A restaurant in Fresno, California in 2016 and one in New York City in 2017 did their own interpretations.
