She knows her coworker lied about having COVID so she could spend some time at Disney! Should she tell their boss down?
THE UPDATE
Did she rat out her coworker or not? We have an update! Plus, Davi received a hilarious email from a listener she needs to share with us.
My coworker had time off over the holidays. Because of her time off, I was unable to take any days off. I wasn’t mad or upset. It’s just how things go sometimes. We try to be fair about vacations and time off and unless it’s unavoidable, we try to rotate the vacation weeks so multiple people are not out at one time. We are also only allowed so much time off in any 3 month period. Part of this is because it puts so much additional work on other employees who have to cover for that person. Over the holidays, I was working so many extra hours and had so much on my plate that it was hard to enjoy the season at all with my family. Because of her week off at Christmas, my coworker isn’t eligible for any time off until April.
A few days ago, her husband posted something on facebook asking a question about one of the Disney parks. I didn’t think anything of it. I assumed they were taking a trip in the spring or over the summer. Well, yesterday, she emailed our manager and copied the rest of us who work closely with her and told us that she tested positive for covid. Our company policy is that you must stay home for 10 days after a positive covid test. I still thought nothing of it. I felt bad for her but also felt bad for myself because I knew I had over a week of hard work and long days ahead of me.
Well, she must have forgotten that I’m friends with her on facebook because I never post or comment on anything. So, she posted pictures of the cute little disney outfits they got for their daughter for their trip NEXT WEEK! She totally lied about having Covid so she could use the mandatory 10 day quarantine to take another family vacation.
I am livid! Part of me is so angry that I want to tell my boss. However, I’m not so hateful that I’d want her fired over it. I just don’t think it’s fair to me and the others that have to cover for her.
What would you do?
