In his new memoir, Matthew Perry goes into detail about his struggle with addiction and his long, expensive road to sobriety. He also goes into detail about his hatred for Keanu Reeves.
He actually disses Keanu twice in the book, both times when he’s talking about a friend who died.
The first is River Phoenix. Matthew starred with him in the 1988 movie “A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon”.
He said, “River was a beautiful man inside and out and too beautiful for this world, it turned out. It always seems to be the really talented guys who go down.
“Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”
Then he slags Keanu again while talking about the death of Chris Farley…who he starred with in the 1988 comedy “Almost Heroes”. He says, “I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out. Keanu Reeves walks among us.”
