Quinta Brunson from “Abbott Elementary” won the Emmy for Writing for a Comedy Series. But in order to accept the award, she had to step over Jimmy Kimmel, who was pretending to be passed out on the stage.
Quinta Brunson will be on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” tonight, and they’ll most likely discuss their Emmy moment . . . where she had to step over him to accept her statue because he was pretending to be passed out drunk.
Will Arnett had dragged him out, claiming Jimmy got WASTED after losing his own Emmy earlier in the night. And Jimmy stayed like that the whole time, even after Quinta left the stage. Will just dragged him off again.
Ever since, people have been complaining that Jimmy STOLE Quinta’s moment. And we’ll find out if she agrees tonight, because she’ll be on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
For the record, Quinta was NOT bothered by it in the press room the night of the show . . . but she’s leaving her options open. She said, quote, “I feel like the bit didn’t bother me that much . . .
“Honestly, Jimmy gave me my first big late-night spot. He was one of the first people to see ‘Abbott Elementary’. He was the first person to message me on Instagram.
“He was so excited it was going to be on ABC. I was happy it was Jimmy. I kind of consider him one of the comedy godfathers . . . Tomorrow, maybe I’ll be mad at him.”
As for what’ll happen tomorrow night, she said, quote, “I might punch him in the face. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
