Can you buy a pack of crayons or a coloring book to help sick kids?
Head Coach of McEachern High School Girls’ Flag Football team, Jake Burgdorf, is heading up an AMAZING project.
They are currently collecting crayons and coloring books for the patients of CHOA Hughes Spalding. Coach Burgdorf and the team have big goals to give back to the hospital and would love help reaching the goal of 250 packs of crayons and 250 coloring books.
Here’s the link to the Amazon Wish List (purchases will go straight to Coach) OR if you’re local, you can drop your donations at Russell Hall at McEachern High School.
Here is the email he sent out:
The flag football team is collecting coloring books and crayons for Children’s Healthcare Hughes Spalding Hospital. Hughes Spalding is the smallest hospital of the 3 that Children’s Healthcare owns. Hughes is in Atlanta, by Grady Hospital. They take care of many patients in the Emergency Department, and also in their Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, specifically Sickle Cell patients. Also, they take care of asthmatic children at Hughes.
Hughes Spalding has 95% uninsured or Medicaid covered patients. However, they do not turn a child away, regardless of the parents’ ability to pay! Coloring books, crayons, and craft activities are a luxury for their patients.
The flag football team intends to present Pam Younker of Children’s Healthcare with all donated coloring books and crayons at halftime of our home game on 11/16/23. We have a goal of collecting 250 coloring books and 250 packs of crayons. Please help us reach our goal. Thank you!!
