Today, we need to know if what this dude did after a year of dating is a breakup-able offense (dating red card), or is it just a yellow card…or no big deal?
I need your input. I’ve been dating a guy for about a year and everything has been going great..or at least I THOUGHT it was all going well. This past weekend something happened and I’m not sure what to think. I’ve honestly been avoiding him the last few days because I’m hurt, angry, and unsure what to think. His 10 year high school reunion was this past weekend. I’ve known about it for a while but he was pretty adamant that he wasn’t going to go. I tried to convince him because I knew that I’d be upset if I had missed mine. I was actually pretty bummed because he was my date to mine and I was looking forward to meeting his old friends. If I’m being honest, I also wanted to meet his high school sweetheart…just out of curiosity. He had been saying that he has zero interest in seeing friends from high school. He said he still sees and keeps in touch with everyone he cares to keep in touch with. So, I just let it go and kinda forgot about it.
Well, about a week ago, he told me he had a work trip this past weekend and would be traveling. I thought nothing of it until Sunday when he was tagged in a few pictures…FROM THE REUNION!! He lied to me! He went to his high school reunion without me and completely lied to me about it. I’m furious…hurt..angry…sad…confused.
I have no proof that he cheated but it just feels like that was his intention. Either way, I don’t think I can trust someone that would flat out lie to me about where he was and wasn’t going. Am I overreacting or is it time to end this?
