So…did it work?
First, you have to be willing to spend atleast 3-5min with this guy.
1. Battle through the crowd and approach the bar, make sure you jam yourself between at least two guys – this will give you more of an opportunity.
2. Once at the bar, make yourself noticeable: smile, put your empty drink in from of him or make sure he knows you don’t have a drink at all.
3. Make a statement, sort of like “OMG, how long have you been waiting? This is crazy – I just want a drink!”
4. When he replies, introduce yourself, and this is where the 3 – 5 minute conversation comes in. Have small talk with the guy, be nice, smile, compliment.
5. At this point, he should get the picture and will more than likely respond with “Hey, want to take a shot?” or “I got this one.” As soon as the shot has been taken or the receipt has been signed, give him a pat on the back, say “Thanks! Nice meeting ya, I’m gonna go meet up with my friends now.”
Boom! Free drink.
Make sure he knows he’s just gonna buy you a drink, NOT take you home. (Unless of course you want him to.)
