We found a weird experiment on how to test for testicular cancer and we’ll try it out on the men of The Bert Show…using pregnancy tests. Reddit blew up recently with a story about a teenage boy who took a home pregnancy test as a joke, received a positive result, and wound up being diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Sounds like a hoax, right? Well, CNN says it’s actually possible to detect some (note: not all) types of cancer, because the Beta-HCG hormone (which are in a woman’s placenta during pregnancy – and that’s what pregnancy tests look for) is also found in some types of cancer and tumors.
So, we’re breaking out the “glow sticks” (as Producer Tommy calls them), and are testing away. This could go very, very wrong.
