Apparently, last week, a man was flying from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China to Nairobi, Kenya and his bags were over the weight limit. So he did what he had to do to avoid extra baggage fees: he started putting on his clothes. ALL OF THEM. Apparently, he put on sixty-one shirts and nine pairs of jeans.
He might’ve gotten away with it to…if he’d remembered to take some batteries out of the pockets of his bottom layer jeans. The metal detectors went off as he went through security, and he had to strip all the way down to one layer.
It’s not clear if they made him put all of the clothes in a bag and pay, or whether they banned him from the flight outright; all the Chinese media says is that he wasn’t allowed on the flight wearing his 70 pieces of clothing.
