Selma Blair told a British newspaper that Cameron Diaz retired from Hollywood. She said, “I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about [our 2002 movie] ‘The Sweetest Thing’…
“I’d have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like ‘I’m done’…I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She’s happy.”
That wouldn’t have been the biggest shock in the world. Cameron is 45…and hasn’t done a movie in four years. Her last one was the 2014 “Annie” remake.
She did an episode of “Yo Gabba Gabba” in 2015…the same year that she married Benji Madden. But she hasn’t done any other acting since.
Selma’s ‘revelation’ started trending, so she walked it back.
She Tweeted, “Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. Cameron Diaz is NOT retiring from ANYTHING. And for more breaking news: I’m NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.”
Cameron hasn’t commented.
