Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici Are a Success (So Far) Because They’re “Not the Typical ‘Bachelor’ Couple”

Believe it or not, there have been 21 seasons of “The Bachelor,” and only ONE couple has ever actually gotten married.

It’s Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici from Season 17. They were on the show in 2013, got married in 2014, and had a kid last year. Now, they’re tempting fate by explaining WHY they were the only couple to make it.

Sean says, “Part of our success [is] that we’re not the typical ‘Bachelor’ couple. We don’t do a lot of the ‘Bachelor’ reunions and go and meet up…that’s just not us. We live our own life and do our own thing, so we don’t really feel that pressure and that’s the way we like it.”

And Catherine says, “We get along so well with the other couples that are successful…[the] ‘Bachelorette’ couples that have made it.

“We all have something in common, which is that we just want to be normal [and] make our relationship work.”

In other words, the LESS your relationship is a reality show or is related to the entertainment industry, the MORE likely you are to survive. Which has a great, beautiful irony that’s ignored throughout every season of both shows.

For the record, there are only three successful couples from the 12 seasons of “The Bachelorette,” including the most successful couple of the franchise, which is Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter from the first season.

They got married back in 2003, and have two children. It’s nice that Sean and Catherine have made it this far, but a two-year marriage isn’t exactly enduring love. Yet.
