Plastic Surgery For Kids: A Quick Fix For Bullying, Or Part Of The Wussification Of America?

If your kid was incessantly picked on for one thing that was easily fixable, would you do fix it? Dr. Sanjay Gupta interviewed one family who did just that: their child was being picked on for her ears, so they contacted a foundation and had it fixed.

Although, after a consultation, the surgeon recommended that her chin, among other parts, also get fixed to even out her features, essentially upgrading her from one surgery to three.

Is this a good way to combat bullying, or is it contributing to what Bert calls the “wussification of America?”

 

 

Her mother joined The Bert Show to talk more about why they made the seemingly extreme decision of surgery – and what other factors contributed to the sensitivity of the situation.
