Yesterday, President Obama made history; he is the first President to to firmly support of gay marriage. Some are saying he was waffling on his original position, but he claims that his opinion has changed due to numerous factors, including his family.
Although this is a personal stance, Obama stresses that he respects states’ rights to legislate their own laws; this comes on the heels of the news that North Carolina has written a ban of gay marriage into the state’s constitution.
