MTV Digs Deeper This Year At The Video Music Awards

MTV announced a new category for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards–the first-ever “Best Video With a Message” category. The special category is in conjunction with MTV Act, which celebrates the union between music and social activism. It highlights artists who created music videos that made us think about the world around you.

The “Best Video With A Message” nominees are:

1. P!nk - “F****** Perfect”

2. Lady Gaga - “Born This Way”

3. Katy Perry - “Firework”

4. Eminem feat. Rihanna - “Love The Way You Lie”

5. Rise Against - ”Make it Stop (September’s Children)”

6. Taylor Swift - “Mean”

The winner will be announced August 28th.
