A California mother quit her job so she could cheer on her son’s Little League World Series run.
Her son is one of the team’s stars, and her husband is the coach, and when they made it to the big game she requested time off. She had enough vacation, but her boss was out of town and wouldn’t let her leave.
He told her if she went to the game she should write herself her “last check.” So she wrote herself her last check and took off for the series.
When she landed in Philly for the game there were no more rental cars available so she paid $400 for a taxi to take her to Williamsport, PA.
The team eventually came in third in the series after winning the consolation game.
