Miss Out On Black Friday? How To Score Big On Cyber Monday (Also Known As Today)

Black Friday came and went with only a few casualties and fights, and now for the rest of us (lazy? smart?) at home shoppers, it’s the virtual equivalent – Cyber Monday. Here are some of 11 Alive’s tips on how you can shop smart and save today:

“1 – Cyber Monday was created by the Retail
Federation of America’s trade association, shop.org. It also created the web site, Cybermonday.com to list the deals and ads offered by more than 700 retailers.

2, 3 – Deal News.com and Cybermonday2011.com (on offshoot of Bradsdeals.com) are two other sites that monitor online sales and report the best deals throughout the day.

4,5,6,7 – Consumer reports recently reported shoppers are more satisfied with the deals they find online than in brick and mortar stores.

It rates Newegg.com, Crutchfield.com, BHPhotoVideo.com and Amazon.com as the electronics dealers with the best prices and customer service.

8,9 – Launch your shopping trip starting at ebates.com or ShopatHome.com for rebates of between one and fifty percent of your purchase.

10 – Free Shipping.org lists the stores that offer free shipping and the coupon codes that are required.
Freeshipping.org also lists the stores that have free return shipping, which can be harder to find.

11 – If a store doesn’t offer return shipping, consumers can still request it, especially if you are on the fence about making a purchase. Overstock.com is one retailer that sometimes will agree to allow free return shipping if you’re not sure you’re going to like something.”
