Michael Gough,The Original ‘Alfred’ From The ‘Batman’ Movies, Has Died

The actor who starred as trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth in Tim Burton’s “Batman” films (and the other two by Joel Schumacher) has died. He was 94.  British actor Michael Gough’s career spanned six decades and includes more than 100 films.  He starred in Burton’s “Sleepy Hollow,” “Corpse Bride” and “Alice in Wonderland,” and  earned a cult following in the U.K. through his appearances in Hammer horror films and guest spots on popular Brit television series “The Avengers” and “Doctor Who.”  Other notable credits include “Out of Africa,” “A Christmas Carol” (1985), “The Boys from Brazil” and “Julius Caeser.”
