In the upcoming male stripper movie “Magic Mike”, Matthew McConaughey gets onstage and struts his stuff in nothing but a thong. And yes, everything you see is legit. He says, “That’s all me up there. I don’t need a stunt ass.” He adds, “I said, ‘I gotta dance, man.’ I would regret it for the rest of my life if I was in a male stripper movie and didn’t get up there and strip myself.”
As for that thong, Matthew says, quote, “The thong’s your armor, man. It’s your sword. Well, I guess it’s really the sheath for the sword.” Matthew says he felt his dance had to be, quote, “the dirtiest . . . it had to be wonderfully filthy.”
No matter how good Matthew looks, star Channing Tatum doesn’t seem to think he’s the main attraction. He says, “With Joe Manganiello naked in a movie, I think even straight guys are going to be, ‘[Crap], I need to see that. That man is a specimen.’” (Joe plays Alcide Herveaux on “True Blood.” In “Magic Mike,” he plays a character with the naughty name of Big “D” Richie. Except the D is actually the short way of saying Richard. “Magic Mike” hits theaters on June 29th.)
