Extra host Maria Menounos revealed that she’s been sexually abused by multiple doctors during past examinations. Menounos said her fear of doctors began when she visited a physician to treat a throat issue at a young age.  She said the doctor had asked her to change into a hospital gown, and she felt paralyzed when he began to touch her genitals.

Menounos said that her longtime boyfriend encouraged her to press charges against the doctor, but she didn’t want to make the issue any worse. She also revealed that she has endured other medical exams where the doctors did questionable things.

To avoid these things from happening in the future, she makes sure to bring her boyfriend into the examination room with her– especially if she’s getting a gynecological exam.

So, what age is it appropriate to let your kids do things alone…like go to the bathroom?
