If Donald Trump is looking for a new campaign song, he should see if Loretta Lynn’s willing to let him use one of hers, because she’s a big fan.
“Billboard” asked for her take on the next election, and she said, “I think Donald Trump is going to be our next president.” They asked if she’s met him and she said, “Yep. I like him. I mean, Donald’s Donald.”
Don’t take that endorsement as a statement about which way she leans politically. She’s performed at the White House for just about every modern day president, including Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr.
And when asked for her opinion on President Obama she said, “I like Obama, and I like his wife. I liked Bill Clinton too.”
In a related story: Kacey Musgraves was asked to name her “4 Essential Loretta Lynn Tracks. She chose “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” “Fist City,” “The Pill” and “Portland, Oregon” with Jack White.
