Kristin’s brother, Staff Sergeant Morgan Klingshirn, is finally back from his fourth deployment in Afghanistan, and he visited the class of five-year-olds in Atlanta that had “adopted” him after The Big Thank You.
They sent Morgan and his platoon letters, care packages, and photos all throughout his deployment (boxes of Ranch to make their food taste better, shower shoes – whatever they needed), and they had a bulletin board of his picture up, so every morning they even said the “Pledge of Allegiance” to him.
They even sent Kristin and Morgan’s mom and dad Christmas cards…and it was the first time since being in Vietnam that Kristin’s dad had been thanked for his service.
So as a thank you, he paid them all a visit…but they went over the top in welcoming him home! Lead by students with flags, parade-style, kids lined the halls as the entire school came out to cheer for him as he walked through, and every classroom door had something patriotic on it. A deserving homecoming.
