Jenn recently bought a new home, and the previous owner had done some landscaping. Apparently, the landscapers unearthed a couple of historic treasures…and left them in the back yard.

When Jenn and her husband Grant finally got around to checking them out, they found out that they were two 12lb Civil War cannonballs!

People are telling her they’re worth several thousand dollars…but here’s the catch: they could be active. Apparently, one man who was restoring a cannonball was blown up (the shrapnel travelled 1/4 mile)!

In another case, they were going through historic artifacts at a University and found one, and had to evacuate the entire building.

Uhh…and Jenn and friends have been moving them around without a second thought. Good luck with that.

Gordon L. Jones, Ph.D., Senior Military Historian & Curator for the Atlanta History Center, joins the show to share the worth of the cannonballs…and exactly how dangerous they are.
