President Obama earned an estimated $12 million to $15 million from that fundraiser at George Clooney’s house Thursday night.
Guests including Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jr., Barbra Streisand, Salma Hayek, Billy Crystal and Jack Black paid $40,000-a-plate to eat a dinner prepared by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.
Obama even cracked a few jokes to his benefactors. He said, “We raised a lot of money because everybody loves George. They like me, they love him. And rightfully so.”
On Friday morning, Obama and Clooney played some pickup basketball. George’s girlfriend Stacy Keibler said, “George and Obama were on the same team, so they both won! I was the cheerleader on the side.”
