History Channel’s “Hatfields & McCoys” Draws Huge Audience

The History Channel’s new miniseries, Hatfields & McCoys, debuted to a record-breaking audience on Monday night. Nearly 14 million viewers tuned in to the premiere, making it the most-watched non-sports telecast in the history of basic cable.

As a point of reference, ABC’s The Bachelorette averaged 5.8 millions viewers on Monday, while NBC’s America’s Got Talent averaged 10 million. Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton star in the news series, which continues tonight at 9 ET/PT.
