Last month, Rihanna posted a picture that led to rumors about her hectic partying lifestyle. After the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Met Ball, she posted the pic of her arm hooked up to an intravenous drip. But some medical experts now think Rihanna may not have been admitted to the hospital with medical problems but was instead enjoying a “party girl” drip.
Rihanna is apparently the latest celebrity jumping on the latest health bandwagon by going to private clinics to have a high-dose cocktail of vitamins and nutrients. The drips were originally used to treat the severely malnourished and clinically ill. But now people who are feeling run down are paying top dollar to have a bag of the stuff injected. It includes vitamins B and C, magnesium and calcium. The drips can give people some hydration and some have died having vitamin infusions.
Side effects can include fever, dizziness, inflammation of the vein, infection, and in some cases anaphylactic shock.
