Harry Potter’s Spell Binding Weekend

The new and last Harry Potter movie had the biggest opening weekend ever, knocking The Dark Knight from the top spot. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 took in $168.6 million over the weekend to take the top spot and break the previous record of $158.4 million set in 2008 by the Batman movie. The movie was also biggest-ever opening day and single day with $92.1 million and has grossed $475.6 million worldwide over the weekend—yet another record.

This weekend’s top 3 were: 1.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, $168.6 million  2. Transformers: Dark of the Moon, $21.3 million   3.  Horrible Bosses, $17.6 million
