There’s a little part of everybody who likes attention. And there’s a BIG part of the majority who want to take that to the next level: fame.
Well, we’ve got good news: you don’t actually have to do anything to be famous…(and cue the Kim Kardashian jokes. But at least Kim K. has a TV show, some shoe and fashions lines, and we have to give it to her, she’s a hell of a business woman.
So what if you don’t have the reality tv show empire? You do like this guy: fake it. He ‘dressed’ the part, grabbed a couple of people to act like body guards, his agent, and photographers (also known in celebrity circles as an ‘entourage’), and walked through Times Square.
The best part? It totally, absolutely worked. Girls screamed his name, people claimed to have loved his first musical single and/or his appearance in Spiderman (didn’t happen), and are jumping at the chance to take a picture with him.
Ok, so we lied. That wasn’t the best part. The best best part is that at the 2:43 mark, someone who looks eerily like Aziz Ansari (the WTF look on his face = priceless) is walking through the crowd. Everyone was SO obsessed with the fake celebrity that they actually missed the real one.
And that’s when you know you’ve pulled it off.
