Cyndi Lauper Flubs National Anthem During 9/11 Tribute

Cyndi Lauper flubbed the lyrics to the national anthem at the US Open. It happened during a remembrance of the 9/11 attacks.

She performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the beginning of the women’s semifinal match between Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki. Instead of singing “O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming,” Lauper sang, “O’er the ramparts, we watched as our flag was still streaming.”

It was the same line that Christina Aguilera messed up during the Super Bowl.

No comment from Lauper or her camp.
