M-Bone of Cali Swag District was killed in a drive-by shooting as he sat in a car outside a liquor store in Inglewood, California. The crew scored a hit last year with the track, “Teach Me How to Dougie”. Police are still trying to find a motive for the shooting. 22-year-old M-Bone’s real name is Mante Ray Talbert. He was sitting alone in his car when another car pulled alongside. Gunshots were fired and Talbert was hit twice in the head. He died at a hospital. Cali Swag District’s publicist released a statement saying the murder was “a random act of violence.”
Bandmate C-Smoove tweeted that his life “changed drastically in the blink of an eye.” Cali Swag District member M-Bone might have been targeted after a Twitter war over a girl.According to TMZ, M-Bone’s friends have been in touch with cops, telling them that after he got back to LA from his tour, he got involved with a girl. A guy who lived in the woman’s building didn’t like the relationship, and started threatening M-Bone on Twitter. M-Bone apparently didn’t back down and the two men started beefing. Now, it turns out that the black car M-Bone was shot in is registered to the woman. Cops are trying to figure out why M-Bone was driving the woman’s car and whether the Twitter war was is in any way related to the shooting.
