Big Daddy Spy: Eavesdrop On Your Kids Via Their Cell…Without Them Knowing

Parents love it. Kids hate it. Nope, it’s not broccoli – it’s Big Daddy Spy. This software reportedly helps parents monitor their kids’ social lives by allowing parents to text a special code to their child’s cell phone and consequently eavesdrop on their surroundings – all without their kids knowing.  Parents can even chime in on the cell phone conversations if they deem something inappropriate, and they can also monitor all ingoing & outgoing calls, text messages, emails, and track their kid with GPS.

Obviously this is a concerned parent’s dream invention…but, does it blur the line between safety and privacy? What happens when you hear your 16-year old teenager doing something you don’t like?  What if you find out a BIG personal secret – have you just screwed up your kid for life? On the flip-side, what if you just stopped your child from making a huge mistake that could have jeopardized their safety?
