Former “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks had her first kid back in May, and she wishes someone would’ve told her to lay off the peppermint gum.
She says, “Don’t have any peppermint gum or the next day, you won’t have any [breast] milk. It dries you up. I had no idea. It was the craziest thing.” In case you’re curious, she was eventually able to restore her supply.
Some women claim large amounts of strong mints such as Altoids will diminish breast milk production.
If you’re curious, the Internet says other bad things include carbonated beverages, caffeine, Vitamins B and C, and sage. Meanwhile, things that can boost production include: Oatmeal, almonds, chicken, turkey, and grains.
