The very funny Phyllis Diller died in her Los Angeles home at the age of 95. The comedienne had been in hospice care after she fell and hurt her wrist and hip.

Her manager said, ”Phyllis Diller passed away peacefully in her sleep. Her son, Perry, found her with a smile on her face.”

Diller mastered the art of self-deprecation; she often poked fun at her looks or her housekeeping prowess. Roseanne Barr said, “To a lot of us she was better than Bob Hope.”

She did stand-up until she was noticed for her crazy laugh and ‘frazzled housewife’ act and started guesting on TV shows in the 60′s. Bob Hope had her on 23 of his specials and numerous Vietnam USO shows.
