“American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips finally got kidney surgery he needed for months but put off so he could win the signing competition. Phillips was under the knife for six and a half hours on Wednesday to remove kidney stones that were too large to pass. His rep said the surgery went well and he’s resting.
The surgery is expected to get him healthy in time for the upcoming Idols Live Tour, which kicks off July 6th in Detroit.
