20th Century Fox Changes Title of “Neighborhood Watch”

As expected, 20th Century Fox has changed the name of the upcoming comedy Neighborhood Watch.  It’s now just called The Watch. They did it to avoid bad publicity in the wake of the Trayvon Martin incident in Florida even though it doesn’t resemble that tragedy in any way.

The Watch stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and British comedian Richard Ayoade as friends who start a neighborhood watch group as an excuse to get some man-time together.

They end up uncovering a plot by aliens to take over the world. The studio also released a new, R-rated trailer that plays up the alien angle and downplays the neighborhood watch aspect. The Watch hits theaters July 27th.
